News from China!
Real Honey’s Marketing Director, Michael Librizzi, recently returned from showcasing Real Honey at the International Food Trade Expo in China (?).
Mick said it was a privilege to present Real Honey alongside some of Australia’s best and most unique food producers.
“We had a lot of interest in the product from the Chinese,” he said. “Particularly in our medicinal honey. Those who tried it said they could really taste the unique flavours in the honey – and they loved the lemon myrtle. A couple of people said they thought the honey tasted sweeter than some of the other honey they had tried.”
“They loved the fact that our honey is raw, real and locally produced.”
During his three-day journey, Mick had the opportunity to learn about the Chinese culture and sample some delicious local cuisine.
“Their food is fantastic. I loved sampling the local cuisine from street markets – everything from omelettes, skewers and vegetables, it was all delicious!”
He was also impressed by the natural business acumen the Chinese people displayed.
“I learned so much from the Chinese and am beginning to understand the size of the market over there and the opportunities for our unique product,” he said. “The Chinese have their own long, fascinating history so they appreciate the Indigenous history behind Real Honey.
“It’s been fantastic to have the opportunity to learn from them and we hope to have forged long term business relationships. The Chinese are very professional.”
“Each time I travel to China, I gain more of an understanding of what we need to do to compete in a world market.”
We are now in the process of negotiating with Chinese wholesalers and reviewing our pricing structures.
